Even before BMW itself pulls the canvas of the strongest M5, the M5 Competition pops up via the global web. BMW hides 25 horsepower under the bonnet.
By a post at Bimmerpost we are already face to face with the most powerful 5-series that BMW has in store. Where the ‘normal’ M5 with 600 hp already gives little reason to complain, BMW does as usual at the Competition still a scoop on top. The 4.4-liter TwinPower turbo V8 now squeezes 625 hp. With this the M5 Competition sprints from standstill to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds and the top speed is 305 km / h. That is the summit for a bit high as that of a regular M5, while a sprint lasts 0.1 seconds less. A sprint from standstill to a speed of 200 km / h has also been measured. For this the M5 Competition needs 10.8 seconds.
In addition to a motor update, the M5 Competition has also been tackled cosmetically. Chrome details in the grille of the M5, for example to make place for a black color. Furthermore there are special one wheels, the chassis has been sharpened and another exhaust system has to produce more noise. According to the post follows the official unveiling early next week, on 8 May. Reportedly the production starts in July and the cars are waiting for their new owners from September. Last month BMW showed the M2 Competition.
