Mercedes-Benz has introduced the E-Class to a new one model year. Striking fact: the E 43 AMG disappears.
Mercedes-Benz has a series of major and minor changes to the E-class. In this way, the E-class benefits in terms of safety systems from sharpened technology that comes from big brother S-class. Active Distance Assist and Active Steering Assist now better take into account bends, intersections and roundabouts.
Bigger news on engine level. Mercedes-Benz has decided to get subtopper E 43 AMG from the price list. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that delivers 401 hp and 520 Nm is followed by a 435 hp and 520 Nm strong six-in-line that serves as a power plant in the new E 53 4Matic +. With EQ Boost that muscle bundle delivers another 22 hp and 250 Nm extra. Both the Mercedes-AMG E53 4Matic + sedan and station wagon are capable of sprinting in 4.5 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h. With the AMG DriverPackage does not reach top speed 250 km / h, but 270 km / h. Switching is done by means of an AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission.
In addition, the 258 hp and 620 Nm strong diesel six cylinder, the E 350d, disappears from the international delivery list. The brand seems to believe that the 245 hp and 500 Nm strong E 300d, a two-liter four-cylinder, is a great alternative. For those who want more power, Mercedes-Benz has devised the new E 400d. This diesel, a 2.9-liter six-cylinder, with 340 hp and 700 Nm of torque can be called a true diesel worker. In less than 5 seconds a speed of 100 km / h is on the clock.
Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz makes a series of new steering wheels available for the new E. Striking fact: the cruise control can now be operated with buttons on the steering wheel instead of a stalk on the steering column. Good news for those who want to link more than one phone to the infotainment system: it is now possible to synchronize two devices with the E-class.
Another new feature is the SportStyle Package, a package that includes Mercedes-Benz items as chrome decorative strips for the front and rear bumper and special one alloy wheels. The center console can now be finished with new types of wood and the Seat Comfort Package, which brings four-fold adjustable lumbar support to the E-class, is now standard on the Exclusive, Avantgarde and AMG-Line. In addition, when you have checked Comand Online, you will receive an analog clock in your dashboard as standard.
Information about the Dutch engine palette of the upgraded E-class follows at a later stage.
