Vivo X21 UD to launch on May 29

Owned by smartphone mogul BBK Electronics, Vivo is a sub-brand for the company along with big names like Oppo and OnePlusall catering for different aspects of the society. The Vivo series is known for amazing features at low price and hence the upcoming phone also matches these expectations.

The phone has already been launched in China in March and has made way to most of the countries worldwide.

The company has started sending invites to press agencies and media outlets in the country about a new device named ‘X’, which can be safely assumed as X21.

The Vivo X21 comes with some mid-tier hardware hereby compromising on the performance. However, the phone has the feature of in-display fingerprint sensor, which is the latest technological advancement in smartphones ever.

In-display fingerprint sensor means that instead of a physical fingerprint button, the screen will serve as a fingerprint sensor. Instead of the whole screen, a part of the screen is actually used as fingerprint sensor which is pretty amazing for any smartphone.

Vivo X21 UD is Vivo’s second phone with the capability of in-display fingerprint sensor after Vivo X20 UD. However, sources say that the company will only launch Vivo X21 in India instead of Vivo X20.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. It has a Micro SD card slot for extending storage capacity. The phone offers dual SIM capabilities like most Android phones. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with slight Vivo modifications — Funtouch OS and reportedly support for Android P.

The phone features a 6.28 inch almost bezel-less screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and also comes with Full HD + resolution.

The phone also sports a dual camera support with dual sensors of 12 MP and 5 MP for amazing depth sensing as well as clear images. The camera setup also consists of PDAF and LED Flash for low-lighting images.

The phone also packs a 3400 mAh battery to power its huge screen with a notch.

The phone costs 3,598 yuan in China — translating to roughly Rs 37,000. The price tag is slightly high compared to other phones but other phones also lack in-display fingerprint sensor.
