Volkswagen has presented the previously announced Golf GTI TCR. The car shares part of its name with the TCR circuit racer and is the fastest Golf GTI ever.
The Golf GTI TCR, in these photos it is officially still a ‘concept’, like the Golf GTI has a 2.0-liter TSI under the hood. In this new version that comes on the market this year, the block is not 245 hp strong as in the GTI, but the blown four-cylinder delivers 290 hp and 370 Nm.
The block is linked to a seven-speed DSG transmission, an automatic transmission that provides power through a limited slip differential about divides the front wheels. The top speed is 250 km / h, but whoever ticks the option to get the GTI TCR without, has to be able to speed through to a speed of 264 km / h.
The Golf GTI TCR, which today is presented at the annual GTI party at the Austrian Wörthersee, just like the Golf R gets two extra radiateurs in his face. The car is on 18-inch light metal (19-inch is optional) and the inhibitor exists from perforated writing with extra biting claws and blocks. On the option list there is an exhaust system from Akrapovič. The car is available in the new color Pure Gray, but is also available in colors such as white, red, black and other usual GTI colors. In combination with certain lacquer colors, completely black roof is also available.
In the interior Volkswagen mount sports seats that are covered with microfibre and fabric with the middle part of the chair in red. At the end of this year, the Golf GTI TCR will be on the market and with that Volkswagen seems to give the Clubsport a successor. Dutch prices will follow at a later stage.
